SUMMARY
Under the direction of the dean (Associate/School Dean), PALs use their knowledge, experience, and training to welcome and guide incoming first-year students through their first semester/academic year. Assist with the coordination of and provide firsthand insights into school-based programming, extracurricular activities, and serve as a resource agent regarding other academic support services. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other student leaders to strengthen the overall student experience. This role is essential in supporting student engagement, belonging, and retention.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
Assist with school-based
onboarding and programming initiatives, academic-related outreach
activities and eventsHelp students understand how to
access college and school resources and assist with referrals (e.g.,
counseling, advising, tutoring, financial assistance)Serve as a positive role model,
promoting active learning and engagement with faculty, campus
