About the role The Inventory Specialist owns finished goods and receives them from Production, counting what the facility holds, staging orders, and verifying every manifest before it leaves the building. Accuracy matters more than speed here. A count entered incorrectly is worse than a count entered late, because everyone downstream will trust it. Incoming consumables are owned by the Shipping & Receiving Specialist; this role picks up at finished goods. Key responsibilities Finished goods receipt Receive finished goods from Production and confirm counts against batch records before accepting custody. Inspect finished product for defects, correct labeling, and batch accuracy. Confirmed products are released only after testing has passed. Store finished goods correctly, rotate appropriately, and keep areas organized and compliant. Counts and audits Perform daily, weekly, and monthly physical counts as scheduled. Run cycle counts and reconcile actual stock to system reports. Report every discrepancy to the Inventory Manager the day it is found — never adjust a count to make it match. Support end-of-month, end-of-quarter, and end-of-year counts. Order staging Pull, pack, and stage scheduled orders for delivery on time. Coordinate transfers of finished goods between departments and, where applicable, between facilities. Confirm staged orders match the order record before handoff. Ensure all Dispensary specific requests are followed(See Dispensary Requirements) Outbound verification Verify outbound manifests — confirm every product is correctly counted before Distribution takes custody. Resolve discrepancies on orders before they leave the building. Load product for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule. Confirm outbound activity is compliant with state regulation. Systems and records Maintain inventory records in Business Central and Leaflink accurately. Operate a scanning gun and computer to process reports and forms. Complete clerical tasks including data entry and order support. Learn and adopt new systems, records, and SOPs as they are introduced. Working in the team Follow all company SOPs and processes; raise a question rather than guessing. Attend required meetings and training. Support and train newer team members when asked. Complete assigned work efficiently and see tasks through to the end. Candidate qualifications Skills Numerical accuracy and the discipline to report a discrepancy rather than resolve it quietly Knowledge of inventory and quality control practices Ability to work within established warehouse procedures Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfort with ERP systems, scanning equipment, and spreadsheets Reliability and consistent attendance Experience 2+ years in inventory control or a warehouse environment (required) Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (preferred) Education High school diploma or GED equivalent (required) Associate's or bachelor's degree (preferred) Physical demands The physical demands described here represent those an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
