About the Position
The Data Recovery & Migration Specialist is responsible for executing data offloading, legacy media processing, and hardware recovery across multiple organizational sites. This role requires travel to multiple U.S. locations to extract data from various polysomnography (PSG) devices and media storage types (including legacy hard drives of varying ages and DVDs, some of which may be non-functional or degraded). Additionally, this role provides technical support and hardware troubleshooting at the main site, converting extracted data into standardized, usable formats, and maintaining core IT operations.

About the Project
This project is a multi-institution research collaboration with Stanford, Johns Hopkins, the Veteran Affairs (VA), and the Department of War (DoW) to build a sleep foundation model. Unlike traditional AI models, a sleep foundation model relies on self-supervised learning on vast amounts of physiological sleep study data (petabyte-level). By generating representations (embeddings) from the sleep data, the team aims to forecast future health risks and uncover latent patterns that traditional sleep scoring metrics miss.
