They transport patients to a higher-level facility and provide advanced care to the most critical. This nursing role offers many unique opportunities for the ideal candidate, including: 1:1 patient ratio Progressive standing orders and medical scope of practice Utilizes specialized equipment including Ventricular Assist Device, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), ECMO, and transport ventilators. Plays an integral part in the regional Surgical Emergency Response Team (SERT), providing advanced surgical, stabilization, and transport capabilities for patients in the pre-hospital setting. This position offers opportunity for a two-week rotating schedule or a set three day per week schedule. Shifts are 12 hours in length and based out of our facility in Dayton, Ohio. Operational Duties: Performs regular assigned shift duties. Maintains cleaning standards of station(s), vehicle(s), and equipment. Completes detailed patient and operational reporting, in a timely manner. Participates in continuing education and skill competency programs Acts as a preceptor and/or participates in orientation of new employees to cultivate culture and skillsets Education Requirements: Current Ohio Nursing license CPR, ACLS and PALS certification Associates degree from accredited school of nursing, with Bachelor’s required within 5 years of employment Recent nursing experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care (ICU) setting Pre-hospital certification and experience as an EMT or Paramedic preferred Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and/or Critical Care Register Nurse (CCRN) preferred Overview Kettering Health is a not-for-profit system of 14 medical centers and more than 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio.
