Lab Technician I - 1st shift

PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods. SUMMARY The Laboratory Technician I supports daily lab operations by ordering laboratory supplies, logging samples, managing waste, performing daily weight checks for analytical balances, shipping test materials, and cleaning glassware. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must be able to follow company policies and safety procedures, operate basic office and lab software (e.g., Oracle, LIMS), and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills are essential. Work is performed in a laboratory environment and may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations. Ability to operate basic office equipment and personal computers with standard software packages. Strong organizational skills. Experience handling multiple projects, assignments and duties. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws. Log receipt of samples into the laboratory using LIMS software applications. Ordering laboratory supplies using Oracle software applications. Removal of laboratory waste into appropriate holding containers. Ship test samples to outside testing laboratories as needed. Cleaning of glassware using laboratory glassware washer. Perform daily weight checks for analytical balances. Perform related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, vision to monitor, and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in a laboratory environment.
