Join our team as a part-time Laboratory Intern and gain real-world experience supporting both Donor Services and Bioprocess Development. Working directly with industry professionals, you will develop practical laboratory skills and acquire valuable knowledge of the biopharmaceutical field that will support your educational and career goals. This role will work 20-25 hours per week and schedule will be flexible to fit around your school schedule. This is not a summer internship - this is position is available immediately. The Laboratory Intern supports the team by performing developmental studies, assisting with tissue procurement and cell culture, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role is intended to grow into a full-time position with increased independence and responsibility. This role interacts will all levels and multiple departments within the organization in a collaborative and positive way to facilitate department and organizational initiatives for cultural cohesion aligned to the DiscGenics Values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Aid team members in the setup and execution of developmental studies. * Aid in procuring and culturing tissue to support development needs. * Collect, review, and maintain documentation to support tissue release processes. * Perform aseptic processing in a biological safety cabinet. * Record laboratory data in the in-house data management systems. * Analyze test results and generate report summaries. * Adhere to standard operating procedures, laboratory methods, and protocols under GLP and/or GMP conditions. * Participate in routine lab cleaning activities. * Attend and contribute to technical team meetings. * Collaborate effectively with external organizations and stakeholders. * Handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality. * Other duties as assigned   Job Requirements: * Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a biological, biochemical or chemistry related field. * 0-5 years of experience in a laboratory-based position, experience can include internships. * Experience with aseptic technique (working in a biological safety cabinet) preferred.  * Ability to use mathematical skills and knowledge to solve problems. * Must be willing to work with human cells/tissue. * Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. * Exceptional organization and time management skills.  * Must be a team player.  * Adheres to and leads with the Company Values of Integrity, Innovation, Accuracy, Teamwork and Stewardship.  * Regular and predictable attendance. * Ability to report to work responsive, free from sedatives, and in a non-sedative state.  * Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  * Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed on a rotating schedule. Working Conditions:  Position requires qualified individuals to see, hear and speak (verbally and audibly). Required to ascend and descend stairs; sit, stand, lift, bend, stoop, crawl and kneel. The employee must also use hands to finger, handle or feel. Occasionally reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing are required. May be asked to drive or travel by car, air, or other transportation for business purposes.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.  Must be able to function effectively with noise in a lab environment.
