Maintenance Mechanic

Our team is expanding, and we are currently hiring a Maintenance Mechanic. This position supports the Facilities Department in the daily operation and maintenance of Axcelis' principal manufacturing and warehousing sites. This role will contribute to the effective management of the environmental, health and safety program at Axcelis' semiconductor equipment manufacturing facilities in Beverly, MA . Responsibilities: Complete Preventative Maintenance (PM) and daily Work Order (WO) requests Perform building and equipment preventative maintenance such as filter changes and daily inspections Perform minor repairs on mechanical equipment such as chillers, air compressors, pumps and boilers Work with skilled trades, engineers and manufacturing personnel to complete work requests Maintain equipment logs Monitor Building Management System (BMS) and respond to alarms Maintain and repair facility structure, equipment and grounds Support Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Facilities departmental initiatives Assist with Hazardous Waste and Recycling management including the collection, labeling, storage and transportation coordination of all waste streams Conduct routine inspections of hazardous waste accumulation areas, maintain required records and manifests, and support environmental compliance activities Assist with wastewater system monitoring and operation, including sampling, documentation, and coordination with environmental service providers as required Perform minor carpentry, painting and floor repairs Perform inspection and minor repairs of roofing systems Assist with snow removal, including shoveling, snow blowing, and application of ice melt on walkways, stairs, roofs, and other areas as needed Maintain snow removal equipment Basic Qualifications: 1 to 3 years of Facility Maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment required Basic industrial electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge required Ability to work overtime as needed during special projects required Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, and rough sketches required Participate in a rotating 24-hour emergency call-in program required Hazardous Waste and/or Wastewater Operator experience strongly preferred Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience preferred Building Management System (BMS) experience preferred EQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT It is the policy of Axcelis to provide equal opportunity in all areas of employment for all persons free from discrimination based on race, sex, religion, age, color, national origin, disability status, medical condition (including pregnancy), veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE $26.30 - $39.45 This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as you develop within the role. Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular employees working 20+ hours a week).
