Maintenance - MTEA - MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN A

TITLE: Mechanical Technician A POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Mechanical Technician worker is responsible for performing diversified duties with regard to repairing, installing, troubleshooting & maintaining production and facility equipment according to established Company & OSHA safety requirements. These duties will include but not be limited to performing manual labor, operating a variety of light and heavy-duty equipment, performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic repairs of packaging and production machines. The Mechanical Technician worker is tasked with performing their assigned responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner, assisting with the workflow of the department, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 1-2years of related experience in the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic fields is required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas. Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced, high demand-manufacturing environment. Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel, whether individually or in a team environment. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work. Ability and experience in operating standard & electric pallet jacks, standard fork lift trucks and stand-up forklift trucks. Requires the ability to perform basic arithmetic functions consistently and accurately. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision. Must be flexible with work hours. Manual Mills, Lathes and welding experience a plus. Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary. Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Reads and interprets equipment manuals, blueprints and work orders to perform required maintenance & service. Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments. Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines and other equipment within the facility. Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment. Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed. Assists maintenance and other manufacturing personnel with technical troubleshooting. Adheres to, complies with and assists with the enforcement of Company safety policies and procedures Performs all other duties and projects as assigned WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION: While performing the duties of this job, the Mechanical Technician worker is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel material. This position requires the ability to see/hear warning alarms; also requires walking, standing, stooping, bending and twisting, and kneeling. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat and high noise levels. Working on open air secured floor is also required.
