What you'll do

Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
Record patients' vital signs
Prepare patients for examinations
Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing

What you need

A Medical Assistant Certificate
A High School Diploma
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending and reaching
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
Knowledge of standard precautions and ability to utilize appropriate PPE
Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
Proficiency with an EMR system (preferred)
Education: a high school diploma or a professional certificate

Job Description: Medical Assistant Location: Patchogue, NY Hours/Days: 5 8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri between 7:30am-6pm Organization: New York Health (NYH) Breast In this role, you will: Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests Record patients' vital signs Prepare patients for examinations Sterilize medical equipment and instruments Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing Other duties as assigned We require: A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs What we offer: Salary: Starting at $22 per hour Benefits: Including health insurance from day one, dental and vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401k, PTO, 8 paid holidays (including 2 floating holidays), and more.
