Job Description: Medical Assistant Location: New Hyde Park, NY Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts; Mon-Fri 7:30a-6p Organization: New York Imaging (NYI) In this role, you will: Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording. Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests. Record patients' vital signs. Prepare patients for examinations. Sterilize medical equipment and instruments. Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process. Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures. Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing. Other duties as assigned. We require: High School Diploma Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs Must be able to float to our Brooklyn and Staten island urology locations What we offer: Salary: Starting at $23 per hour Benefits: Including health insurance from day one, dental and vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401k, generous PTO, 8 paid holidays (including 2 floating holidays), and more.
