Medical Assistant (Outpatient), AHBD Referral Center (Full-Time Temporary, Day Shift)

Lying just inland between the State's coastal mountain ranges and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Adventist Health Reedley has been serving the Central Valley since 2011. We are comprised of a 49-bed acute care hospital and 60 clinics in 27 rural communities with primary and specialty care services. Job Summary: Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: * High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Licenses/Certifications: * Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: Required * Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required * Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred * Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred Facility Specific License/Certifications: * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Essential Functions: * Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers. * Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician. * Performs audiometry and vision testing. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. This role will support clinic operations by coordinating appointments, processing medication refill requests, and managing verification inquiries in a non-patient-facing environment.
