What you'll do

Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
Record patients' vital signs
Prepare patients for examinations
Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing

What you need

High School Diploma
Knowledge of standard precautions and ability to utilize appropriate PPE
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending and reaching
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
Proficiency with an EMR system (preferred)

Job Description: Job Description Medical Assistant - Urology Location: Astoria, NY Schedule: 5 / 8.5 Hour Shifts; Mon-Fri 7:30a-6p Organization: New York Health (NYH) In this role, you will: Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording. Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests. Record patients' vital signs. Prepare patients for examinations. Sterilize medical equipment and instruments. Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process. Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures. Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing. Other duties as assigned. We require: High School Diploma Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
