This position requires a valid Class A CDL and works as part of a two-driver team responsible for operating FM3 and providing food distributions in rural communities throughout The Food Depot’s service area. Both Mobile Delivery Coordinators are responsible for the entire FM3 operation from beginning to end. This includes preparing, stocking, and loading the trailer before distributions; placing daily or weekly product orders based on distribution needs; transporting and positioning the truck and trailer; setting up and breaking down at distribution sites; registering and checking in clients; collecting accurate client and distribution data; distributing food; and safely returning the truck and trailer to The Food Depot. The Mobile Delivery Coordinators will monitor inventory, rotate product using FIFO, follow proper food safety procedures, and ensure FM3 has the appropriate food and supplies needed for each distribution. They are also responsible for keeping the truck, trailer, equipment, and client areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for operation at all times. This position requires regular interaction with clients, volunteers, staff, and community partners while providing professional and respectful customer service. Both Mobile Delivery Coordinators are expected to work together and share responsibility for ordering, stocking, loading, transportation, setup, client service, distribution, recordkeeping, breakdown, cleaning, and preparing FM3 for the next distribution. Principal Responsibilities: Operate a Class A commercial vehicle and safely transport the FM3 truck and trailer to distribution sites throughout The Food Depot’s service area, including rural communities. Assist with ordering dry product, produce, refrigerated, and frozen items needed for upcoming FM3 distributions based on expected client numbers and distribution needs. Stock and organize FM3 before each distribution and make sure adequate product and supplies are loaded and ready before departure. Properly rotate all food and inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to ensure older product is distributed first and to help reduce food waste. Follow all proper food safety procedures when receiving, loading, transporting, stocking, and distributing food, including the safe handling and storage of dry, refrigerated, frozen, and fresh products. Monitor refrigerated and frozen products to ensure proper temperatures are maintained throughout transportation and distribution. Inspect products for damage, spoilage, expiration dates, or other food safety concerns and remove any product that does not meet food safety standards. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, and related equipment and immediately report any safety or maintenance concerns. Safely position, park, level, and set up FM3 at distribution locations while following all applicable safety procedures. Set up and break down the Food Mobile distribution site, including the trailer, equipment, client areas, product, and other materials needed for the distribution. Assist clients with registration and check-in and provide support throughout the distribution while providing respectful and professional customer service. Load, unload, stage, organize, stock, and distribute food and other products for FM3 distributions. Monitor product levels during distributions and help determine product needs for future distributions. Maintain accurate client counts, distribution records, inventory information, vehicle logs, product records, and other required documentation. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized truck, trailer, distribution site, and work area before, during, and after each distribution. Communicate with the Director of Distribution & Transportation and other staff regarding schedules, route changes, product needs, distribution needs, vehicle concerns, and client needs.
