Description Redwood News Multi-Media Journalist Full-Time Full job description: Redwood News (KIEM-NBC3 / KVIQ-CBS17) in Eureka, Ca. is looking for a full-time Multimedia Journalist to join our newsroom and continue our tradition of excellence in local news coverage across media platforms. What you’ll do: Collaborate with newscast producers to produce local news content for live television broadcast and digital platforms. Create news reports aimed at television viewers and web audiences. Participate in editorial discussions and contribute coverage ideas. Requirements Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, Film/Television or related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills include excellent news writing and visual storytelling. Excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritize tasks and information under pressure are required Must be able to work independently and as part of a team Must have scheduling flexibility Must possess a valid driver’s license; A motor vehicle record check is required before hiring. Management has the right to alter assignments as needed. Demonstrate solid writing skills with accuracy and an unbiased manner for digital platforms Demonstrated proficiency with digital video cameras, Adobe video editing software, andsocial media platforms. Availability to work Saturday and Sunday and holidays if needed. Ability to lift 30 lbs. of gear and to sit, walk or stand for long periods of time.
