What you'll do
- Warmly greet and welcome guests
- Conduct thorough guest consultations
- Perform the technical aspects of all nail services offered
- Educate guests on appropriate at-home nail care and recommend products
- Recommend and encourage pre-booking
- Meet or exceed established goals for retail sales and guest retention
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary service environment
- Complete and maintain all required annual continuing education
What you need
- Active Cosmetology or Manicurist License in the state of Michigan
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and Saturdays
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced salon environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Previous experience providing professional nail services (preferred)

Douglas J Salon and Med Spa in Okemos is seeking a full-time Nail Technician to add to our team!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Warmly greet and welcome guests, creating a positive and professional experience from arrival through departure.
Conduct thorough guest consultations using techniques and standards established by Douglas J.
Perform the technical aspects of all nail services offered on the Douglas J service menu safely, efficiently, and professionally.
Educate guests on appropriate at-home nail care and recommend products that support the health and appearance of their nails.
Recommend and encourage pre-booking to help guests maintain their preferred service schedule.
Meet or exceed established departmental goals for retail sales and guest retention.
Build strong, lasting relationships with guests through personalized service and professional recommendations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary service environment in accordance with applicable standards.
Stay current with industry techniques, products, and service standards.
Complete and maintain all required annual continuing education.
Represent Douglas J professionally and contribute positively to the salon team and overall guest experience.
Nail services offered at Douglas J Salon and Med Spa Okemos:
Natural nail services including manicures, pedicures, gel polish
Hard Gel and Hard Gel with tips
Gel FX
Powder Dip
Nail art
Hot Rock services
Requirements
Active Cosmetology or Manicurist License in the state of Michigan.
Previous experience providing professional nail services is a plus.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and Saturdays.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced salon environment.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Maintain a polished, professional appearance consistent with the Douglas J Image Principle.
