Part-Time Direct Support Professional, Project SEARCH

Look no further than PathPoint's Project SEARCH team!rnPathPoint is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to join our Project SEARCH team in Culver City, CA. Project SEARCH is a unique one-year internship program that enables young adults with developmental disabilities to learn invaluable job skills in a competitive work setting. In this role, you will coach and support students with disabilities as they work through internship rotations. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 9:30am-2:00pm.rnResponsibilities:rnrnCoach and support students at the internship site by teaching soft skills such as professional communication, behavior and grooming/hygiene, and hard skills specific to the internship duties.rnProvide individualized support for students, including job coaching, building natural supports, identifying job accomodations, and use of assistive technology.rnCollaborate with students, employers, staff, and other partners to creatively address any issues affecting students' training and employment.rnLead classroom discussions on a variety of employment-related skills.rnWrite case notes, monthly student evaluations, and other reports regularly.rnrnQualifications:rnrnBachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field is preferred.rnPrior experience working with individuals with disabilities or who are economically disadvantaged is strongly preferred.rnMust pass Live Scan DOJ fingerprint background check, TB screening and basic health screening.rnStrong communication and public relations skills.rnStrong computer skills, including MS Office, email, and Internet.rnrnCompensation and Benefits: $15.00 per hour.
