Role Summary Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital is hiring a part-time Mental Health Technician for every other Friday & Saturday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM (Baton Rouge, LA 70816). This role supports safe, respectful patient care and dependable program operations. Key responsibilities include: collaborating with outpatient program staff; documenting patient behavior, vital signs, notable events, and observation findings per nursing direction; assisting the nurse and activity director with patient care and therapeutic interventions; supporting meal distribution and kitchen cleanup after lunch; providing ADL support (including bathing, feeding, cleaning, and diaper changes); maintaining facility cleanliness; and adjusting schedule when needed for coverage. Your Shift Snapshot You’ll start early with a brief handoff and a clear plan for the morning. Throughout the shift, you’ll stay visible on the unit, communicate changes promptly, and keep accurate, timely notes that help the clinical team make informed decisions. Midday, you’ll help the flow of lunch run smoothly—supporting patients as needed, keeping common areas orderly, and resetting the space. You’ll balance multiple priorities with calm focus, respond professionally to distractions or escalations, and close out the shift by confirming documentation is complete and the environment is ready for the next team.
