Job Overview
As a PCT on the Stepdown Unit, you’ll support nurses in caring for patients who require closer monitoring than a traditional med‑surg setting. Your steady presence and attention to detail help ensure patients receive safe, high‑quality care during critical points in their recovery.
What You’ll Gain
Working on the Stepdown Unit gives you experience with complex medical‑surgical, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis patients — an ideal setting to build strong clinical judgment and hands‑on skills. You’ll strengthen vital signs, mobility support, patient monitoring, communication, and learn to recognize changes in patient status in a high‑acuity environment. The unit’s structured orientation, supportive leadership, and strong teamwork culture help you grow confidence quickly as a new member of the team.
