Payroll and Staff Accountant

Sandis is currently looking for a Payroll and Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Roseville. This role supports payroll, month-end close, general ledger entries, and full-cycle accounting. Our ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, organized, and self-motivated. Why you will love it here: Professional development, training, and mentorship Comprehensive benefits package Amazing teams of supportive and hard-working professionals Responsibilities: Full cycle bi-weekly payroll for approximately 150 people Time imports from timesheets, field tags, and project management software Union Fringe benefits administration Submit certified payrolls per client requirements. Client collections and communication Review and post general ledger entries Process Accounts Payable transactions Journal Entries and Reconciliation of accounts Generating ad hoc reports and research special requests from clients, vendors, HR, and Management Coordinate with Project Accountant as needed on invoicing Qualifications: Associates Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field 2+ years of related accounting experience, preferably in (AEC) industry Prior payroll experience strongly preferred, ADP Workforce Now preferred Good knowledge of accounting principles Accounting Software experience (Ajera preferred) Ability to enter data fast and accurately, and strong knowledge of Excel Previous use of Google Sheets in a work environment preferred Sandis Benefits: Competitive salaries, end-of-year bonuses, and 401k Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance, including life and long-term disability Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for health care, parking and transit, and dependent care expenses Starting paid time off at 24 days – 16 PTO and 8 paid Holidays 3 days paid bereavement; 10 days paid jury duty In-office coffee and snacks Education reimbursement and professional license program, paid annual dues for professional and societal organizations Sandis is a professional services corporation specializing in civil engineering (Land Development Design), traffic engineering, land surveying, and planning, but we are much more than the services we offer.
