This internship provides hands-on experience working on digital products used by clients, interpreters, and internal teams across Propio’s language services platform. In this role, you’ll work alongside our designers and collaborate with Product and Engineering on real product initiatives. You’ll gain experience across the product design process, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity design, design systems, and usability testing. We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive, comfortable asking questions, and excited to learn how real product problems are solved in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Support the design team on active product initiatives through research, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design Explore different solutions to product problems and communicate the reasoning behind your design decisions Work within and contribute to Propio’s design system, including reusable components, patterns, and documentation Assist with user research and usability testing, including note-taking, synthesizing findings, and identifying opportunities Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to understand user needs, requirements, and technical constraints Participate in design critiques, share your work, and incorporate feedback Help review implemented experiences for usability, accessibility, and consistency with designs Requirements Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Product Design, UX/UI, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred Portfolio or examples of work demonstrating UX/UI, product design, or related problem-solving skills Coursework, school projects, freelance work, and personal projects are all welcome as relevant experience Working knowledge of Figma or similar design tools Basic understanding of user-centered design principles and the product design process Curious, proactive, and comfortable asking questions when requirements or problems are unclear Strong communication skills and ability to explain the thinking behind your design decisions Open to feedback and willing to explore and iterate on different solutions Interest in design systems, accessibility, user research, and emerging AI tools is a plus Prior internship or professional experience is a plus, but not required Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status What you’ll Gain Hands-on experience designing real SaaS products used by clients, interpreters, and internal teams Exposure to the complete product development process from problem definition and research through design, engineering handoff, and implementation Experience working within and contributing to an established design system Practical experience collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and other cross-functional partners Experience participating in user research and usability testing with real users One-on-one mentorship and regular design feedback from experienced Product Designers Experience presenting design work, participating in critiques, and communicating design decisions Exposure to accessibility standards and designing inclusive digital experiences Experience using AI and emerging tools to support research, ideation, prototyping, and product design A stronger understanding of career paths within Product Design and what it is like to work on a growing enterprise product ecosystem Meaningful project work that can help strengthen your portfolio and prepare you for a future Product Design role Notice of AI Use in Job Application Review As part of our commitment in creating a fair, efficient, and consistent hiring process we may use artificial intelligence (AI) to help our recruiting teams organize, summarize, and analyze information provided by candidates, including resumes, application responses, and other materials submitted during the application process.AI may be used to identify patterns, highlight relevant skills, and experience, and assist in comparing a candidate’s qualifications with the requirement of a specific role.
