ABOUT HEAVISIDE INDUSTRIES
Heaviside Industries builds multi-domain autonomous precision munitions for U.S. and allied special operations and conventional forces. While modern warfare has rapidly evolved with the proliferation of unmanned systems, hyper-precise munitions in contested environments are the future of the battlefield. Economical precision strike capabilities are critical to U.S. and allied war efforts, enabling successful defeat of enemy military assets and infrastructure. Heaviside builds precision munitions designed to operate in GPS-denied and spectrum-jammed battlefields—where traditional systems degrade or fail—without inflated prices or sacrifice to performance.
All engineering and manufacturing is conducted in-house in Heaviside’s Los Angeles, CA headquarters and Oslo, Norway office.
Heaviside is backed by Interlagos, Menlo Ventures, Flume Ventures, Cantos, Anorak Ventures, and Ravelin Ventures.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Assemble box-built electromechanical units for air and undersea vehicles from work instructions, drawings, and bills of materials
• Operate hand tools such as torque drivers, crimpers, and wire strippers to build harnesses, enclosures, and subassemblies to specification
• Follow strict work instructions step by step and flag unclear or incorrect steps to production engineers
• Record build data, serials, and torque values in the MES system on a computer during each assembly step
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation with ESD controls and correct handling of parts and kitted materials
• Help ramp production as the team scales by learning new builds quickly and suggesting improvements to work instructions
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree or technical certificate in a related field a plus
• 1+ years of box-built or electromechanical assembly experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or a similar environment
• Hands-on skill with hand tools including torque wrenches, screwdrivers, crimpers, and soldering irons
• Ability to read and understand simple technical requirements, assembly drawings, and bills of materials
• Proven ability to follow strict work instructions and document work accurately without deviation
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working in a hands-on team on real hardware
• U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62)
NICE TO HAVE
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 training or certification
• Experience with wire harness fabrication, connector termination, or cable routing
