Production Test Technician

Duties & Responsibilities: As a Production Test Technician at Viavi Solutions, you will be responsible for performing functional and performance testing on a variety of Viavi products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications before shipment. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues, contributing to the efficient flow of production. Execute standardized test procedures and document test results accurately. Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing on optoelectronic, fiber optic, and electrical assemblies and systems. Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot failures to the component level using various test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, DVMs). Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and improve product quality. Set up and maintain test fixtures, equipment, and workstations. Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on test procedures and product design. Perform basic soldering and rework as needed. Document non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis. Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements: Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience. 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production test environment, preferably with optoelectronic or telecommunications equipment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Strong understanding of electronic circuits and test methodologies. Experience with various test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators. Familiarity with fiber optic technology and associated test equipment (e.g., optical power meters, OTDRs) is a plus. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Good written and verbal communication skills.
