Programs
We partner with families to help them achieve their dreams. For children, Good Samaritan operates a Spanish-language preschool, school-based and afterschool programs and a variety of summer camps. Our youth programs focus on literacy, art, chess, computer coding, and outdoor learning activities.
For adults, Good Samaritan offers case management, parent support groups and classes. We focus on family planning, healthy behaviors, literacy/school readiness, economic stability, socio-emotional well-being and English as a new language. No matter a person's entry point, Good Samaritan strengthens participant's social capital and peer networks.
Located in San Francisco’s Mission and Bayview/Hunter’s Point neighborhoods, as well as in more than a dozen local public schools, we serve nearly 3,000 individuals annually.

The Organization
Good Samaritan Family Resource Center (GSFRC) is an innovative multi-service non-profit agency located in San Francisco’s Mission District. Its mission is to help immigrant families access needed services, develop self-sufficiency, and participate fully as members of the community. Our staff is a diverse and talented team willing to take different and unique approaches to help children, youth and families thrive and succeed.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Service Coordination Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in the coordination and implementation of Family Services Programming. Key responsibilities include group facilitation, working directly with Program Facilitators on assigned programs to assist with intakes, program enrollment/registration, program preparation, attendance tracking, providing pre-post surveys/evaluations, and information and referral resources for program participants.
Specific Responsibilities
* Ensure communication and interventions with visitors and participants are culturally relevant, acknowledge and value families' strengths, and are responsive to the multiple aspects of the diversity of the families served
* Explain Good Samaritan classes and programs to participants, other service providers, and visitors
* Pre-screen needs of those seeking services through agency’s Intake process to provide information and referrals to internal and external programs
* Conduct Intakes through internal database (Salesforce, CMS) to new and returning Good Samaritan Participants as part of program enrollment which include assessing needs, consent forms and keeping documents confidential
* Plan and facilitate in person and/or virtual curriculum-based classes, workshops, support groups and/or other activities for families (with co-facilitator when assigned)
* Hold program preparation for assigned programs which include (calendar scheduling, preparing materials list, space set up/clean up, phone calls to confirm attendance)
* Track program enrollment and attendance of assigned programs and enter into database.
* Hold assigned program’s waitlists, contact potential program participants for enrollment process, and coordinate with program facilitator for finalizing enrollment list.
* Provide pre/post program evaluations and surveys to participants, collect evaluations/surveys when completed, and assist participants in completing them as needed.
* Work with other staff and service providers to ensure appropriate referrals and follow-up on referred participants
* Maintain and update program referral and services information
* Perform community research to identify and add new resources to our resource information guide
* Provide administrative support to staff as needed
* Meet with Service Coordination Manager weekly, attend staff, team, and committee meetings as scheduled
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relevant work experience
* Bilingual Spanish/English required (in reading, writing, and speaking), bicultural preferred
* Experience with facilitation of workshops, classes and/or support groups
* Experience working with Latino immigrant population and understanding of immigrant issues
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and public relation/customer services skills
* Ability and willingness to work an irregular schedule and to travel to off-site locations in the community as needed
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Computer literacy (MS Word, the Internet, data entry)
* Punctual, self-motivated and flexible
* Experience with Databases (CMS, GMS, Salesforce) and data entry
* Excellent writing skills including spelling and grammar (English and Spanish)
* Collaborative, team-oriented work style and ability to work effectively with diverse staff
* Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries
* Child and youth friendly
Desired Qualifications
* Knowledge of Mission District and citywide resources
* Previous experience in or understanding of the family resource center and/or family strengthening models
* Training or experience in the areas or early childhood and/or youth development
* Experience with the practice of conflict management and de-escalation methods
Requirements
* Must complete full background check (Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index)
* Candidates must go through a background check after a conditional offer is made.
* Must have TB clearance
* Bilingual (Spanish and English; reading/writing/speaking)
