Role Summary
We are seeking a full-time Project Coordinator to support technology initiatives across federal government, commercial, and State, Local, and Education (SLED) customer environments.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who works closely with Project Managers, technical teams, customer stakeholders, vendors, and KNZ leadership to keep projects documented, tracked, and moving.
Role Overview
The ideal candidate is an organized, follow-through-driven coordinator with experience supporting IT infrastructure, modernization, migration, cybersecurity, or related technology projects.
You will own the day-to-day project mechanics: schedules, action items, meeting logistics, documentation, and status reporting, so Project Managers and engineers can stay focused on delivery.
This role requires strong organizational skills, clear written and verbal communication, and enough technical understanding to follow and communicate infrastructure, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity topics.
You will support multiple concurrent projects and proactively flag items that need follow-up or escalation.
Primary Responsibilities
Support Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of federal, commercial, and SLED IT projects.
Maintain project schedules, milestones, action items, dependencies, and deliverable tracking.
Coordinate meetings, technical sessions, project reviews, and customer discussions.
Prepare meeting agendas, capture meeting minutes, and track follow-up actions through completion.
Maintain project documentation, status reports, risk and issue logs, and project repositories.
Assist with tracking project scope, schedules, deliverables, and customer commitments.
Coordinate activities across engineering teams, customer stakeholders, subcontractors, OEM partners, and third-party vendors.
Support resource scheduling and coordination of onsite and remote technical activities.
Track project risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies and escalate items to the Project Manager as appropriate.
Assist with preparation of customer-facing status reports, dashboards, presentations, and project communications.
Support implementation, migration, testing, validation, and project closeout activities.
Help ensure project documentation is complete, current, and maintained in accordance with customer and organizational requirements.
Coordinate access requests, site visits, meeting logistics, and other administrative requirements associated with project delivery.
Support multiple concurrent projects and workstreams across different customer environments.
Required Experience
2+ years of experience supporting IT projects, project management, technical operations, or related initiatives.
Experience working with technical teams and customer stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and action items simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting projects within federal government, commercial enterprise, state and local government, education, or other regulated environments.
Experience supporting IT infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, network modernization, data center, or migration projects.
Familiarity with Statements of Work (SOWs), project deliverables, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
Experience coordinating vendors, subcontractors, OEMs, or other third-party partners.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field preferred.
Certifications
CAPM, PMP coursework, Scrum certification, or other project management training is a plus.
Technical Expertise (Must Have)
Project Tools: Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Jira, or similar platforms.
Microsoft Office: Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Technical Awareness: Ability to understand and communicate basic technical concepts related to infrastructure, networking, cloud, cybersecurity, data center, or enterprise technology environments.
Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Access Requirements: Ability to satisfy applicable customer background, access, or security requirements. Depending on the customer and assignment, a Public Trust background investigation, criminal background check, fingerprinting, or other customer screening may be required.
Preferred Compliance Familiarity
Federal, state, local, or education-sector security and compliance requirements.
Onsite Requirement
This is an onsite, customer-facing position based in Bethesda, MD, supporting federal, commercial, and SLED customers. Some local travel may be required to support assigned projects. For government and other regulated customer assignments, you must be comfortable operating within secure environments and complying with customer-specific physical access, cybersecurity, information-handling, and operational requirements.
