Project Engineer (Commercial Construction) — Lucid Private Offices Location: Expanding nationally with multiple locations in TX, GA, TN, and AZ (stationed in DFW) Starting salary: $68,000 Employment type: Full-time Experience: 2+ Years Managing Commercial Construction Projects About Us Lucid Private Offices is a rapidly growing shared workspace provider with locations across Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and Arizona. We offer the perfect balance of coworking flexibility and traditional office amenities, providing upscale office and workplace solutions for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and companies of all sizes. At Lucid, we're dedicated to fostering a collaborative, innovative, and professional work culture. Whether you're just starting your career or looking to advance, Lucid Private Offices is a great place to be. Position Overview We are seeking an upbeat, confident, and experienced Project Engineer to take full ownership of construction execution for our commercial build-outs and tenant improvement projects. Unlike a support role, this position is built around independent judgment: once a project reaches the end of the bidding stage, it's yours to run — from submittals, RFIs, field oversight, and closeout — with our Director of Design involved only when a decision carries real cost, schedule, or design impact. As Lucid expands, you'll typically be managing several projects at different phases at once. We're looking for someone resourceful and detail-driven, with the technical grit to make field calls on their own and the construction background to back it up. Key Responsibilities Preconstruction & Bidding Create the bid solicitation and contractor comparison during the ~4-week bidding window ahead of each project. Represent the project at the contractor/landlord/design-firm kickoff meeting. Construction Administration Review and respond to submittals alongside our interior design firm. Own RFI response end-to-end, escalating only when an RFI carries a cost impact, schedule impact, or a major design decision. Field Oversight Conduct regular site visits across the ~150-day construction window, identifying issues and directing adjustments on site. Conducting quality checks on progress of work and ensuring the jobsite reflects the construction schedule. Closeout Run the punch walk and oversee the completion of the punch list. Coordinate with the team on receipts and documentation needed for the landlord TI reimbursement packages. Portfolio Management Manage multiple projects concurrently, since new locations open on overlapping timelines. Oversee remodel projects at existing sites (roughly once a year). Required Skills & Experience Technical Fluency: Ability to accurately interpret construction drawings and specifications; proficient in Bluebeam and Excel. Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of GC coordination, submittals, RFIs, and permitting processes. Industry Tools: Experience with project management platforms (e.g., Procore, Trimble, or similar). Judgment & Autonomy: A track record of making field decisions independently, without needing constant sign-off — this role is built around ownership, not task execution. Communication & Organization: Exceptional verbal and written communication, with a proven ability to manage contractor relationships and meet strict deadlines. Logistics & Travel: Willingness and ability to travel to jobsites across our markets as required. Experience: 2+ years of managing commercial construction projects Perks & Benefits Work-Life Balance: No standard nights or weekends required. Health Coverage: 75% employer coverage of Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance. Wellness Reimbursement: Fitness & Wellness reimbursement up to $100/month. Time Off: Paid Time Off (PTO), Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and 10 paid holidays in addition to PTO. Parental Leave: Maternity and Paternity leave. Retirement: 401(k) plan with company match after one year of employment. Professional Environment: Business casual attire and a professional workplace community. Why Join Lucid Private Offices? At Lucid Private Offices, we are committed to building a community that fosters collaboration, growth, and success for everyone. As a Project Engineer, you'll take full ownership of bringing our builds to life — from contract to Certificate of Occupancy — in a role designed around trust and autonomy, not oversight. We offer a supportive and dynamic workplace where you'll have the chance to grow and develop your career.
