What you'll do
- Help make sure V6 and V8 engine and exhaust systems are robustly designed, tested and launched
- Check test evidence
- Perform Change Point Analysis
- Support root-cause problem solving
- Contribute to reliability targets for future programs
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in powertrain/engine or exhaust design, development, or test
- Knowledge of Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA): DFMEA, P-Diagram, Quality History, Boundary Diagram, Interface Analysis and Functional Analysis
- Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills, including the "three-legged five-why" methodology
- Experience with reliability methods
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Master's degree in Engineering
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- Understanding of engine and exhaust architecture and of internal and external system interfaces
- Experience with advanced engine technologies (e.g., turbocharging, direct injection, hybrid systems)
- Experience with automotive quality systems (e.g., APQP, PPAP)
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools
