What you'll do
- Maintain highways, municipal and rural roads and rights-of-way
- Patch broken or eroded pavement
- Repair guard rails, highway markers, and snow fences
- Mow or clear brush from a long road
- Plow snow from roadway
What you need
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have valid State of Michigan Commercial Driver's License with type "A” with Air Brake endorsement.
- Appointees must obtain a CDL "N" endorsement within the first three (3) months of employment or promotion.
- Safe and acceptable driving record (No more than 7 points)
- Maintain valid CDL with A and N endorsements.
- Maintain Air Brake Endorsement
- Maintain DOT medical documents as required by the State of Michigan for CDL holders.
- Ability to carry at least 50lbs.
- Applicant MUST pass a medical and/or drug screen before appointment.
- Pre-employment physical and potential agility test.
- Will be subject to working night shift.

The Public Service Maintenance Worker - A - 1 in the Roads Division will maintain highways, municipal and rural roads and rights-of-way. Duties include patching broken or eroded pavement, repairing guard rails, highway markers, and snow fences. The PSMW - A-1 may also mow or clear brush from a long road or plow snow from roadway.
