Overview Keysight is at the forefront of technology innovation, delivering breakthroughs and trusted insights in electronic design, simulation, prototyping, test, manufacturing, and optimization. Our ~16,800 employees create world-class solutions in communications, 5G, automotive, energy, quantum, aerospace, defense, and semiconductor markets for customers in over 100 countries. Learn more about what we do. Our award-winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry-first solutions. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers. As an R&D RF/Microwave Engineer Intern on the ADS Platform team for Summer 2027, you will bridge the gap between electrical engineering design workflows and core software platform capabilities. Working primarily at the Python API and scripting level, you will build custom design automation solutions, validate API workflows, create reference extensions, and explore modern developer productivity tools. You will apply your engineering domain knowledge to exercise the platform's capabilities, collaborating closely with software developers to refine APIs and evaluate emerging technologies (such as LLM integrations, Model Context Protocol servers, or automated design checks). Responsibilities Develop Python scripts, tools and utility packages leveraging the platform’s API to automate schematic capture, layout manipulation, design-rule verification, and report generation. Act as an internal "first customer" for new Python API endpoints, evaluating usability, identifying functional gaps, and collaborating with C++ core developers to refine API interfaces. Explore and prototype novel application extensions, which may include custom workflow automation, scripting integrations, or experimental AI-assisted tooling (e.g., LLM orchestration, Model Context Protocol servers, or automated assistant tools). Build example scripts, user guides, and reference projects that demonstrate practical automation methods for engineers and customer-facing teams. Qualifications Required Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a technical discipline with an expected graduation date after Summer 2027. Solid foundational understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit theory, schematic entry, and physical layout concepts. Proficiency in Python for scripting, data processing, and task automation. Ability to translate real-world engineering workflows into clean, reusable Python scripts. Preferred Hands-on experience with Keysight ADS, Cadence Virtuoso, Altium Designer, or similar layout and schematic capture EDA tools. Exposure to circuit simulation environments (e.g., SPICE, Spectre, ADS) through coursework, lab work, or projects. Exposure to modern software development utilities, such as REST APIs, JSON/YAML data processing, or Python developer frameworks. Experience in AI/LLM technology concepts (e.g., prompt engineering, tool calling, or MCPs). The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; most offers will be between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range listed below. Min $38.31 to Max $41.25 Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position. Relocation is available for this position. Careers Privacy Statement***Keysight is an Equal Opportunity Employer.***
