Description
Valiant is seeking a Recruiter I to support talent acquisition across the
organization, including active funded positions. Our recruiting team is dynamic,
fast-paced, and collaborative, and works closely with high-caliber leaders who
are honest, open-minded, and committed to finding top talent. Working under the
guidance of senior recruiters and recruiting leadership, the Recruiter I
supports the full recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing and screening candidates
through offer and onboarding. This is an excellent opportunity for an
early-career recruiter to build expertise in government contracting recruiting.
The role requires strong organizational skills, a willingness to learn, and the
attention to detail needed to deliver a positive candidate experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Support recruiting efforts for assigned requisitions in partnership with
hiring managers and senior recruiters.
* Post job openings and coordinate employment advertising across job boards,
social media, and other channels.
* Source candidates using a variety of methods, including resume searches,
LinkedIn, job fairs, college recruiting, referrals, and networking.
* Build and maintain candidate pipelines for recurring and future positions.
* Conduct initial phone screens to determine whether candidates meet minimum
qualifications.
* Coordinate employment-related screenings, including background checks,
employment and education verifications, drug testing, and driving records, if
applicable.
* Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers,
and provide candidates with information on the company, the position, and
interview logistics.
* Prepare and send offer letters and assist with extending offers under the
direction of hiring managers and recruiting leadership.
* Support the onboarding process for new hires, including compliance
requirements and new hire communications.
* Assist with coordinating relocation details and processing applicants and new
hire expenses related to the interview process and relocation.
* Follow Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action guidelines in all
aspects of recruiting and hiring.
* Enter and maintain accurate candidate data and track progress in the
applicant tracking system.
* Maintain well-organized documentation on candidates, searches, and recruiting
activities to support audits, if required.
* Assist with compiling recruiting metrics and reports.
* Participate in job fairs, college recruiting, and other recruiting events.
* Deliver positive and professional experience to all candidates.
* Stay informed of recruiting trends and best practices.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
* 0-2 years of experience in recruiting, human resources, or a related field,
including internships.
* Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a high
degree of emotional intelligence.
* Ability and desire to learn new skills, including technical and
industry-specific terminology.
* Ability to learn and use Applicant Tracking Systems.
* Familiarity with LinkedIn and other social media platforms for sourcing
candidates.
* Ability to accurately review and process data with attention to detail.
* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage
multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant business software.
Preferred:
* Degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
* Experience or internship in government contracting, the military, or a
similar industry.
* Exposure to technical or cleared recruiting.
