REMOTE OPPORTUNITY
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and mechanically knowledgeable Automotive Claims Adjuster to join our growing team. In this role, you will review mechanical breakdown claims submitted by repair facilities. You will utilize your automotive expertise to evaluate diagnostic information, verify contract coverage, and authorize repair costs for parts and labor based on the contract terms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and investigate mechanical breakdown claims to determine if the failure is covered under the customer’s extended warranty contract.
* Assess parts and labor estimates from repair facilities using the industry-standard guide (Alldata) to determine the most cost effective pricing.
* Speak directly and work with automotive technicians and service advisors to obtain diagnostic information, cause of failure, and review repair procedures.
* Review contract exclusions and maintenance history to make accurate approval or denial decisions.
* Negotiate parts pricing or source alternative parts (OEM, aftermarket, used, or remanufactured) when required by the contract.
* Able to de-escalate and be empathetic toward the customer’s and repair facilities grievances.
* Able to take calls while working your claims when a Claims Agent is not available. (All adjusters are in the queues to take any overflow calls, though we have a Claims Agent team dedicated to taking calls and starting claims.)
Qualifications:
* Must have ASE certifications or a minimum of 1 year of equivalent hands-on experience as an automotive technician or service advisor.
* Good understanding of automotive mechanical systems and diagnostic trouble shooting.
* Excellent telephone etiquette and negotiation skills to handle difficult coverage conversations with professionalism.
* Proficient with standard office software and claims management software
* Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred, but not required
