Overview Keysight is a mission-critical design enablement partner for organizations solving the world’s most complex engineering challenges. With deep engineering expertise and leading design, emulation, and test solutions, our ~16,800 employees help customers in over 100 countries accelerate innovation across communications, automotive, energy, quantum, aerospace and defense, semiconductor, and artificial intelligence markets. Learn more about what we do. At Keysight, people come together to explore new ideas, challenge what's possible, and advance the technologies defining the future. Here, you'll find opportunities to do your best work, take your career further, and thrive in an award-winning culture. Learn more about our benefits. Responsibilities Our team, part of Keysight Laboratories' High Frequency Technology Center (HFTC), is a software development group. We design and build custom software used across Keysight's Santa Rosa wafer fab, test floor and assembly lines for everything from wafer maps to electrical test orchestration and automation, data transformation, and extensions of our manufacturing execution systems (MES). The chips we make go into Keysight's own instruments. This role is about learning to engineer software well, not IT or equipment support. You'll learn from experienced developers and work directly with the engineers, operators and technicians who use what we build. Most of our work is in C#/.NET: desktop applications and test-station software, plus web applications and APIs in ASP.NET, backed by SQL Server. Every change is code-reviewed, and builds and tests run automatically. What you'll do: Fix bugs and add features in software used every day across the fab: applications, shared libraries, data pipelines, and the software on our wafer test stations. Help build software for new areas of the fab. Work with the engineers, operators and technicians who use our software, and build what they need. Help support production: investigate errors from the floor and from Sentry, with a senior developer. Write tests for existing code, and learn to change production code safely. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field, completed between May 2026 and June 2027, or a recent graduate with under 2 years of professional experience. Solid object-oriented programming in C#, Java or C++, shown through internships, projects, research or open-source work. At least one substantial program you built or significantly changed that you can walk through in detail. Basic SQL: joins, grouping and filtering. Comfortable with a debugger and with Git. Clear written and spoken communication. Desired: A software internship or co-op. C#/.NET experience. Software that works with data from real systems: files, sensors, equipment or databases. Exposure to manufacturing or semiconductors. Desktop (WPF) or web (ASP.NET) development. Location: This role requires an in-person, hands-on engineer who can physically work with the manufacturing systems in Santa Rosa, CA.
