This position provides customer service and administrative support at both locations, processes recycling center records and landfill scale transactions, and helps keep documentation accurate and operations organized.
Coordinators may be assigned to either location based on operational needs and will rotate weekend coverage when the facilities are open. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
What You’ll Do:
Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, commercial drivers, contractors, employees, and supervisors; answer questions, explain site procedures, and direct issues to management.
Manage landfill scale systems; record inbound and outbound vehicle weights, material types, customer and vehicle information, and other details needed to process transactions and issue accurate tickets.
Verify customer accounts, load information, required paperwork, and applicable disposal requirements; identify discrepancies and resolve routine errors or escalate them.
Collect, review, and process recycling center customer documentation, forms, and transaction records for accuracy and completeness.
Enter and maintain customer and operational information in electronic systems and Excel spreadsheets; organize, scan, file, retrieve, and reconcile physical and electronic records.
Prepare routine reports and support supervisors and operational staff with documentation, research, and other administrative tasks.
Coordinate with landfill and recycling center personnel to support customer traffic flow, timely processing, and clear communication between locations.
Verify scale weights and transaction details before issuing tickets and promptly investigate or escalate discrepancies that could affect customer charges or financial records.
Reconcile scale tickets and transaction records with financial reports as needed, documenting discrepancies and coordinating corrections with management.
Identify and report unusual or potentially unacceptable documentation, loads, customer disputes, system problems, safety concerns, or other issues requiring supervisor direction.
Maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment when handling customer and company information.
Follow company policies and applicable safety, environmental, and site procedures; maintain an organized work area.
Work independently, prioritize competing requests, and maintain accurate records during busy periods.
Perform related customer service and administrative duties as assigned at either location.
Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
What You Bring:
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, including accurate data entry and routine record maintenance.
Ability to speak English fluently and communicate clearly with customers and coworkers in person and by phone; ability to read and write routine work documents in English.
Ability to work at both the Recycling Center and landfill scale house and participate in a rotating weekend schedule.
Reliable transportation to get to work.
Valid Class C (minimum) driver’s license.
Strong customer service, communication, organization, and attention to detail.
