Job Family: Finance Job Description: Job Description Title: Staff Specialist, Accounting Department: Administration Type: Full Time Other: Site Head Reports to: Sr. Manager, Finance and Accounting Status: Exempt Salary Range: Per Experience Direct reports N/A Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. We are in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments, Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Astemo, Inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide. Tasks and Responsibilities : · Standard costs management and reporting, including BOM maintenance, Labor and Overhead Rate calculation · Records payroll costs according to Astemo policy · Supports internal/external audits related to costing processes/COGS expenses · Supports Assistant Controller with departmental self-audits relating to inventory and cost management · Supports Bi-Annual Physical Inventory, financial related activities · Supports monthly forecast preparations · Supports month end closing process by preparing monthly COGS related closing journal entries · Coordinates annual expense budget creation · Collaborates with department managers to monitor budget monthly variances. · Gap Analysis Budget Reporting · CI tool financial verifications · Supports Sales / Management Team with ad hoc cost analysis reports (SYNC, NowOrNever, Sustainability, Rotten Apple, etc) · Supports Sales / Program Management with financial data for QAT analysis · Balance sheet reconciliations for COGS related accounts · Communicates with management and others in a cooperative manner · Other tasks as assigned. When accomplishing tasks, remember to work toward meeting overall company goals established which include, OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance. Safety & Environmental: · Promotes a Safety-First Attitude and provides safe work environment by following all required corporate safety policies and OSHA regulations which may or may not include Personal Protective Equipment, Chemicals, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Incident reporting, Hearing conservation, and others. Quality : · Creates necessary documents (work instructions) to help aid with training for finance department activity. · Performs due diligence on calculated and contributed data included in financial reports, internal and external · Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping Delivery : · Responsible for following all direction given by site and regional management on all projects Productivity : · Uses time management skills to organize, prioritize and delegate multiple projects to meet project deadlines Reporting: · May be responsible for supervising 1-2 direct report staff, including financial analyst, cost accountant, staff accountant, accounting coordinator, accounting clerk, or student interns Preferred Skills: · Advanced Microsoft Office, Excel, Word · Use of office equipment i.e.. fax, copier, calculator · Ability to work with others in an open office, team environment · Ability to Multi-task / work a fast-paced office · Excellent analytical abilities · Excellent communication skills · Demonstrates high level of integrity, business ethics, and confidentiality · Ability to build friendly work relationships, develop cross department teams and mentor junior staff · Familiar with accounting concepts, practices, and procedures – Strong in GAAP, familiar with IFRS Minimum Experienced Preferred: · 1-3 years minimum in similar function within a manufacturing environment, automotive manufacturing experience preferred Minimum Education Required: · 4-year degree in accounting or business administration Key Metrics Responsibility: · Annual Operating Budget · Budget vs Actual Reporting · Regional Financial Template – Sales analysis, Gap Analysis · Headquarters Monthly/Quarterly Reporting Physical Demands: · May be required to sit for extended time · May require extended office hours during peak seasons At Astemo, we’re challenging the status quo with the power of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
