Working with various metals and pipes to be formed within a high degree of tolerances as a Grinder uses a variety of pneumatic grinding tools to prepare a wide range of steel and alloy structures and pipe for welding and to finish welds. Grinding preparations include removal of paint, edge bevels on steel, clean jagged edges, grind welds flush and cut and bevel various diameter pipes. Must be able to work all shifts and in all environments as well as Radiological areas of the boat. Capable of qualifying as a Radiological worker. Willing to accept road job assignments. Willing to obtain elevated NDT qualifications, Limited Magnetic Particle Inspection, Visual Inspection etc. Willing to learn to grind pipe.
