Summer Intern - Procurement/Purchasing

Tru Vue Inc. We are hiring interns for Summer 2027! Our team is hiring interns at our Cincinnati, OH, Faribault, MN and Louisville, KY locations for Summer 2027. These positions go from May-August (12-week program) and offer hands-on project experience, professional development, and much more! The Apogee Performance Surfaces segment generates $200M in revenue and EBITDA margins of 20-25%. Our brands in the Performance Surfaces portfolio develop and manufacture high-performance coated materials for a variety of applications, including wall décor, museums, graphic design, architectural interiors, digital display, and industrial flooring markets. We are the global leader in anti-reflective, conservation grade electrostatic dissipative, high-definition, and abrasion resistance coatings, that provide protection, innovative designs, and exceptional durability. What You Can Expect This internship provides hands-on experience, mentorship from industry experts, and the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of products. Interns will work closely with engineering and production teams and spend significant time on the manufacturing floor. Structured, project-based program focusing on skill set growth, technology and systems knowledge, business acumen, and professional development Regular coaching and feedback sessions with mentors and supervisors Leadership opportunities through activities and presentations Connect with leadership team through various events Exposure to other Apogee locations and business units Partner with other interns through projects, community events, and social activities What You’ll Do Work alongside procurement, planning, logistics, and production teams on real projects. Support the planning, coordination, purchase, and movement of materials. Assist with purchase orders. Communicate with suppliers about pricing and delivery dates. Help identify cost savings and reliable suppliers. Assist with purchasing and supplier communication. Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. What We’re Looking For Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at a four year college or university in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field. Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing at the time of the internship. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Interest in manufacturing and hands-on engineering work. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality teams. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and spending time on the production floor. Strong communication and organizational skills. Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative. What You’ll Gain Experience with process improvement and problem solving.
