SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars.SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.ABOUT THE ROLE: SpaceXSI operates multi-campus, hyperscale GPU infrastructure in Memphis, where every minute of downtime costs training throughput and customer commitments. The Operations Engineering team owns 100% GPU uptime, end to end, 24/7. This is a new engineering and specialist team serving both Site Operations (compute) and Facility Operations (power and cooling). It owns incident response and the engineering behind the response, holds central control authority over what compute is impacted or drained, drives day-to-day sustainment of live datahalls, and leads the deployment engineering that brings new datahalls online. The team will also build the automation behind our NOC Bot, the automated monitoring layer that replaces a traditional technician NOC. Think of it as the datacenter equivalent of SpaceX Launch Engineers and Launch Controllers: engineers and specialists with system-level knowledge of the whole site. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Staff a 24/7 rotation that owns incident management end to end, from customer impact (internal Grok teams and external datahall tenants) back to the facility. - Hold central control authority: determine what compute is impacted or drained and own the system-wide response. - Own day-to-day site sustainment operations, including resolving issues impacting rack-level compute. - Disposition daily issues across both Site Ops (compute) and Fac Ops (power and cooling). - Lead acceptance and deployment testing campaigns to bring new data halls fully online. - Develop production scripts and automation for new datahall bring-up, and build the automation behind the NOC Bot. - Develop and maintain manufacturing-planning-style work instructions so technicians work more efficiently and safely. - Own and document the live, changing state of datahall operation as new halls come online. - Enable Site Ops and Fac Ops technicians to do their jobs more efficiently and safely to increase GPU uptime. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in datacenter, critical facilities, HPC, or similar large-scale operations. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field is a plus. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - System-level knowledge of datacenter sites spanning compute, network, power, and cooling. - Experience owning or running incident response in a 24/7 operations environment. - Specialized troubleshooting skills across rack-level compute and facility systems. - Experience with deployment engineering, commissioning, or acceptance testing of new data halls or clusters. - Production scripting and automation experience (e.g., Python, Bash). - Experience writing work instructions, procedures, or manufacturing planning for technicians. - Experience supporting GPU, AI, or high-performance computing environments at scale. - Ability to communicate clearly with technicians, engineers, and internal and external customers during live incidents. - Enthusiasm for SpaceXSI's mission and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be able to work a 24/7 rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. - Physical capability to handle data center tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, standing for long periods, and occasional ladder use. - Must be willing to work extended hours as needed during incidents or datahall bring-up. SpaceXSI is an equal opportunity employer. For details on data processing, view our Recruitment Privacy Notice.
