Transform genomic and pharmacological data sources into structured, analysis-ready datasets, and build reliable, reproducible pipelines that keep the database current. Responsibility • Development and maintenance of automated database update workflows (scheduling, monitoring, alerts) to ensure timely, reproducible refreshes for our existing database. • Support and improve existing database integration pipelines to ingest and harmonize preclinical and clinical datasets (genomics, pharmacology, toxicology, chemistry/assay results, etc.), including data cleaning, harmonization, verification, and annotation. • Build and maintain reproducible analysis scripts and dashboards to support exploratory analysis and reporting. • Document data models, pipelines, SOPs, and work instructions to enable hand-off and reuse. • Collaborate closely with safety scientists, bioinformaticians, and data engineers to refine requirements and prioritize tasks. • Follow data security, privacy, and compliance practices for handling sensitive research data. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Master’s, or PhD program in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline. Strong foundation in programming (Linux, Python or R) and experience writing reproducible code. Working knowledge of biological, genomics and toxicology concepts. Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Familiarity with data cleaning, transformation, and basic exploratory data analysis. Experience with workflow/orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, GitHub Actions, or similar). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Domino or GCP) and containerization (Docker). Prior exposure to front end design scripts (Javascript, Rshiny or similar) Experience with version control (git) and code review practices. Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical work to scientific and non-technical audiences. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and manage tasks independently. Candidates must have authorization to work in the US.
