What you'll do
- Provide new accounts and teller services
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of products and available services
- Open and close accounts
- Assist with account inquiries
- Perform cash handling duties
- Build rapport with new clients
- Mentor retail banking team members on cross-selling and deepening customer relationships
What you need
- High School diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or some college a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of previous banking experience with a strong preference for experience in retail banking sales and/or new accounts.
- Previous cash handling experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and provide effective solutions.
- Must be able to maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Bank’s products and services.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and utilize custom banking systems and applications in a rapidly changing business and technology environment.
- Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must be self-motivated with strong initiative, high level of accountability, and attention to detail.

PlainsCapital Bank is seeking a Universal Banker to be a cross-trained retail banking professional, providing both new accounts and teller services. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of products and available services and performs a variety of financial services such as opening and closing accounts, assisting with account inquiries and cash handling duties. The Universal Banker has a passion for meeting and building rapport with new clients and a desire to provide the one-on-one attention our customers expect. A versatile, team-player, the Universal Banker is able to work with minimal direct supervision and may mentor other members of the retail banking team on concepts related to cross-selling bank products and services and deepening customer relationships.
