About the company

Farmina

Food production · 501 to 1,000 employees

Farmina is a family-owned Italian company built on the belief that nature and science belong together, developing all-natural, scientifically validated food that dogs and cats love. We run five production plants across Italy, Serbia, Brazil and the United States, distribute in 75 countries, and employ 1,300 people, including 200 veterinarians, backed by our own quality-control laboratories and a scientific committee partnering with veterinary universities such as Cornell. In June 2025 we opened our first North American manufacturing facility: a $115 million, 150,000 sq ft facility in Reidsville, North Carolina, expected to create 200 jobs over five years. It is the largest single investment in Farmina’s history and the engine of our growth in the United States and Canada, bringing European standards, premium ingredients and our own food-safety protocols to the North American market.

This is a unique opportunity to learn and help shape the sourcing strategy for Farmina’s growing US manufacturing operation and build a strong North American supplier network from the ground up. Company – Who We Are Farmina is a family-owned Italian company built on the belief that nature and science belong together, developing all-natural, scientifically validated food that dogs and cats love. Reidsville is young, ambitious and still writing its own playbook. If you are a self-starter, ambitious and you want to see the result of your work coming off the line every day, this opportunity is for you. We at Farmina firmly believe in our company motto: Happy pet. Happy you. About the Role As Procurement Analyst – Packaging, you will support the sourcing of printed and unprinted packaging materials that go into our US production: flexible packaging (multi-layer barrier bags, resealable structures, mono-material developments), labels, cartons, corrugated materials and other packaging components. Reporting to the Plant Manager, with a functional line to the Global Procurement Director, you will support cost, cash, quality-compliant supply and supply continuity at Reidsville. As the US factory ramps up production, your priorities will be to bring analytical rigor and speed to US packaging demand planning, reduce inventory, and support the localization of packaging supply — shortening our lead times. To succeed in your mission you will not be alone: you join a global procurement community across Italy, Serbia and Brazil, and you will have the whole company’s technical knowledge behind you. What you will be doing Consolidate and analyze internal material demand based on past consumptions, forecast, stock level and incoming orders Coordinate with the Italy and Serbia procurement teams on the joint demand-and-order review: consolidate open Pos, artwork status, track shipments and consignment stock positions across the network to avoid stock-outs, reduce PO to delivery lead times and reduce inventory. Prepare requests for quotation (specification, cost model, volume forecast, printing technology), compare and analyze supplier proposals, provide sourcing recommendations, and support commercial negotiation till contract Support inventory optimization: reduce stocks, extend consignment and help implement Vendor Inventory Management. Support supplier onboarding and ensure that the required commercial, quality, compliance and sustainability documentation is collected and kept up to date. Track supplier delivery performance, quality issues and service levels, and flag risks and delays to the Procurement Lead. Assist with packaging development, qualification and change projects by coordinating samples, specifications, testing, artwork requirements and implementation timelines. Support cost-saving, value-analysis and supplier-development initiatives while protecting quality, service and supply continuity. Support the resolution of purchase order, invoice and pricing discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers, Finance and internal stakeholders. Prepare regular procurement reports, analyses and presentations for management. Qualifications We are looking for an analytically strong early-career candidate ready to bring rigor and reactivity to a fast-moving packaging category. You will support a US procurement team backed by a global network, so a numbers-driven mindset, curiosity, and the willingness to pick up the phone matter as much as the CV. Skills and competencies Strong analytical and numerical skills, able to turn raw data into practical conclusions Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, capable of extracting and manipulating large data sets from ERP systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central) Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A proactive, curious and solution-oriented mindset, with a strong willingness to learn. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across functions and cultures. Willingness to travel occasionally to suppliers or Farmina locations, if required. Required Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Finance or a related field. Zero to three years of relevant professional experience, including internships, in procurement, supply chain, operations, packaging, manufacturing or data analysis. Recent graduates with strong analytical internships will be considered. Experience with packaging materials or within the FMCG, food, pet food or manufacturing industries would be an advantage but is not required. Exposure to purchasing or ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle or similar platforms, would be an advantage. This is an on-site position based at Farmina’s manufacturing facility in Reidsville, North Carolina. Occasional flexibility outside standard business hours may be required to support production or supplier-related priorities. What We Offer International exposure through direct collaboration with our Global Procurement team and our plants in Italy, Serbia and Brazil, and the opportunity to help build the procurement function from the ground up as Farmina North America grows. Comprehensive Benefits Package including Medical, Dental, Vision Benefits and much more. 90% Company Paid Employee Only Medical Plan Option 401K with Employer Matching Program Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off Employee Discounts This job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the Employer.
