Job Title:
Value Stream Coordinator
Job Description:
Position Summary
The Value Stream Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of work through the machine shop value stream to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of customer orders and other special projects supporting new product introduction. This role serves as the primary coordinator between Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to identify constraints, resolve issues impacting flow, and improve overall value stream performance. Unlike a traditional expeditor who reacts to late orders, the Value Stream Coordinator proactively manages workflow, identifies barriers to execution, drives schedule adherence, and supports continuous improvement initiatives that enhance throughput, reduce lead time, and improve customer service.
Reporting to the Master Scheduler, the Value Stream Coordinator actively manages work-in-process (WIP), monitors production status, coordinates resources, and takes direct action to remove barriers to completion. This includes assisting in critical operations such as inspection, clean room processing, packaging, and other value-added activities when required to meet customer commitments.
