About the company
Veterinary Practice Partners
Veterinary · 1,001 to 5,000 employees
Arizona Canine Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is not a typical veterinary practice—it’s a focused, high-level orthopedic surgery and sports medicine center dedicated to helping dogs regain mobility and quality of life. While our work centers on advanced surgery, the experience begins the moment a client walks through the door or calls the practice—and that’s where our front desk team plays a critical role. This position is far more than answering phones and scheduling appointments. Our client care team serves as the first impression of the hospital and the guide for clients navigating what is often a stressful and emotional situation for their pet. The right person understands that empathy, organization, and clear communication can make a huge difference for families who are trusting us with their dog’s care.
What you'll do
- Greet and check in clients and patients, collect intake information, and confirm appointment details
- Answer and manage a multi-line telephone system and respond to inquiries
- Perform client check-out, including payment processing and scheduling future appointments
- Provide composed and compassionate customer service to clients experiencing distress
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized records in the practice management system
- Communicate with clinical staff to relay messages and flag urgent situations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area
What you need
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a front desk, receptionist, or customer service role
- Strong verbal and written communication, including active listening and conflict resolution
- Experience with appointment scheduling, multi-line phone systems, data entry, and payment processing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable learning new software and workflows
- Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to work independently and as part of a team
- Genuine affinity for animals and comfort working in a clinical setting
- Veterinary clinic, animal care, medical office, terminology, or PIMS experience (preferred)
