Position Summary The FANUC Weld Robot Technician & Assembly Operator is responsible for managing the complete end-to-end cycle of automated welding production and final component mechanical assembly. This vital manufacturing role involves precision loading of raw fabrication parts into customized engineering fixtures, executing pre-programmed welding tasks using FANUC robotic system controls, conducting quality inspections, and performing manual secondary assemblies by installing spring components to complete the final product sequence. Key Responsibilities & Core Workflow Sequence * Fixture Setup & Parts Loading: Load raw parts accurately into designated welding fixtures, ensuring perfect physical alignment and engagement with manual or pneumatic clamping systems. * FANUC Robotics Operation: Operate, monitor, and basic-troubleshoot FANUC robotic weld cells utilizing the FANUC Teach Pendant interface to activate standard production programs. * Process Monitoring: Oversee the automated cycle to verify optimal welding paths, arc stability, and sequence consistency, quickly pausing operations if cycle faults or line bottlenecks occur. * Unloading & Post-Weld Handling: Carefully extract hot welded assemblies from fixtures using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and verify joint integrity. * Spring Attachment & Final Assembly: Perform manual secondary operations immediately after welding by attaching specific spring components, mechanical tension clips, or sub-assemblies to complete the build specification. * Quality Assurance: Conduct frequent visual quality audits on finished products to identify weld defects such as burn-through, spatter, or structural voids prior to downstream hand-off. * Equipment Care: Keep FANUC weld torch tips, nozzles, and localized workspace fixtures clear of excessive slag and debris through routine preventative maintenance. Qualifications & Technical Requirements * Manufacturing Experience: Demonstrated experience working alongside automated machinery, industrial assembly lines, or customized production fixtures. * Robotic Familiarity: Prior experience with FANUC robotics interfaces, Teach Pendant handling, or automated arc welding systems is highly preferred. * Mechanical Aptitude: Strong manual dexterity and coordination required to quickly attach physical springs and structural hardware components cleanly. * Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for physical layout variations, seam tracking deviations, and surface defects on raw and finished metals. * Blueprint Literacy: Capable of interpreting simple blueprints, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and bill-of-materials routing sheets. Physical Demands & Environmental Working Conditions * Ability to stand, bend, lean, and move efficiently around automated cells for the duration of an 8 to 12-hour factory shift. * Capability to lift, push, pull, or carry raw inventory and heavy final assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. * Comfortable working in a dynamic heavy manufacturing environment characterized by high-heat automated arcs, ambient dust, flashes, and industrial ambient noise levels. 1st Shift: 4:00am-12:30pm 2nd Shift: 12:00pm-8:30pm
