Previous welding experience is required; a welding certificate is not required. This position is primarily to work in our shop but may require occasional travel to job sites. Requirements: Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites. Valid Driver’s License, preferably Class A. Acceptable motor vehicle record. Strong mechanical skills to be able to wrench when welding is slow. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities Responsibilities: Ability to perform all principal duties and responsibilities of the position and any other tasks as assigned. Inspects mechanical and electrical systems; diagnoses and repairs systems. Disassembles systems, examines parts for defects and excessive wear. Welds and fabricates parts according to blueprints using a variety of welding techniques including wire feed, stick, overhead and stainless. Operates a plasma cutter. Operates precision instruments and gauges, hand tools, portable power tools, cranes and hoists. Ability to stand, bend, twist and stoop. Performs other tasks as needed.
