Reporting to the Operations Manager the Painter I is responsible for Prepare, mask, and paint a variety of intricate sand and die cast machined parts in order to produce product with the highest quality appearance possible, and will be located in Grand Rapids, MI onsite. In this role, a typical day will look like: Prepare parts for painting to ensure optimum paint adhesion and the highest quality finish possible. This includes, but is not limited to sanding, deburring, filing and repairing cosmetic imperfections in parts. Mask parts to meet engineering blueprint specifications. Mix paint to manufacturer’s specifications. Apply a two step paint finish on a variety of machined castings to ensure consistent and uniform finish. Will use a variety of paints and painting methods. Maintain the highest possible quality and time standards. Adhere to all MIOSHA and OSHA safety regulations throughout the plant. Become familiar with Hazardous Materials Spill Procedure. Follow training, instructions and work load schedules as directed by Level II Paints. The essential requirements of the job include: High school diploma or GED. Ability to read and follow blueprints. Familiarity with and the ability to use common hand and power tools. Detail-oriented. Ability to check parts for quality in color and appearance. May be required to lift heavy objects. Ability to effectively perform the above mentioned essential job functions. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The compensation range for this role is $18.00 - $18.50 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
