2027 Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Onsite: Phoenix, AZ Internship from May/June - August/September 2027  No relocation assistance or housing provided   Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Manufacturing Engineering Intern eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to the Manufacturing Engineering team. In this hands-on role, you'll support manufacturing process improvements, performance monitoring, and data analytics.   Job Responsibilities: * Support manufacturing operations to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and operational efficiency * Partner with the Manufacturing Engineering team to identify and implement process improvements * Participate in team meetings to contribute to product and process improvement initiatives * Interpret, analyze, and summarize large datasets to support decision-making * Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities beyond predefined KPIs * Conduct statistical data analysis and create clear charts, dashboards, and reports * Analyze equipment performance and utilization to support continuous improvement * Monitor and analyze SPC trends and product yield data * Maintain clear, accurate documentation of analysis, findings, and process changes   Required Qualifications: * Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline as a rising junior or senior  * A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process * Working knowledge of statistics and data analysis concepts * Proficiency with MS Office tools (bonus for Power BI) * Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools - Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y analysis etc. * Exposure to MRP concepts, forecasting methods or inventory management * Demonstrated leadership through an executive role in a club/organization/athletic team, etc. * Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team "This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations.  You may only access such information if you are a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. government."   Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab or similar software) * Self-starter with the ability to proactively collaborate with teams outside of the immediate group to find solutions * Ability to translate technical and analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences   Qualifications Why should you join Mercury Systems?
