Description

Advanced Space | Internship/Co-op | On-site We’re going to the Moon. Want to help win the work that gets us there? About the Role At Advanced Space, we’re enabling humanity’s return to the Moon and building the technologies that will take us to Mars and beyond. We’re hiring an engineering student who wants to work on the business side of space as a Technical Growth and Capture Intern/Co-op. You’ll join our Growth and Capture team, the group that finds, shapes, and wins the company’s new work. You’ll learn how a mission goes from a customer’s problem to a signed contract, and we’ll train you in our capture process from day one. This is not an engineering position. You won’t design orbits or write flight software. Instead, you’ll support the people who win that work, so you’ll need the technical background to understand what our engineers do and explain why it matters to a customer. We’re looking for the student with business cards or the grad student who owns a suit. If you’re an engineer who’s genuinely excited about business, customers, and strategy, this is the role for you. This position starts in January 2027 or June 2027 and runs for at least one semester, with the potential to convert to a full-time Opportunity Lead role. It is open to U.S. citizens only, and candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance. About Advanced Space Advanced Space exists to enable the sustainable exploration, development, and settlement of space through innovative software, mission services, and technology solutions. As the owner and operator of NASA’s CAPSTONE™ mission and the Prime Contractor for AFRL’s Oracle mission, we’re helping shape the future of cislunar exploration while supporting commercial, civil, and national security customers. Our team combines deep technical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset. We move quickly, collaborate across disciplines, and empower every team member to make meaningful contributions. We are customer obsessed and mission focused; when we see it, we solve it; we are one team, motivated by our vision; and we bring technical excellence and inexhaustible curiosity. What You’ll Actually Do Build and maintain customer and opportunity records. Keep track of who our customers are, what they need, and where each pursuit stands. Support Opportunity Leads. Help our Opportunity Leads move pursuits from first contact through proposal and award. Qualify opportunities. Use our structured qualification method to assess who makes the decision, what the customer needs, and whether we can win. Research customers and markets. Dig into customers, programs, budgets, and competitors to help shape our strategy. Prepare for conferences and customer meetings. Get the team ready for key engagements, then capture what was learned and route it to the right people. Support proposals and contract packages. Help assemble proposals and contract modification packages, including compliance checks, schedules, reviews, and submissions. Turn conversations into action. Translate customer and technical discussions into clear notes and follow-up actions. Who Thrives Here You’re pursuing or nearing completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering. You have a demonstrated interest in business, shown through what you’ve done and not just what you say. You write clearly and are comfortable speaking with customers and senior engineers. You’re a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance. You’re able to work on site at our Westminster, Colorado headquarters. This is not a remote position. You’re available to start in January 2027 or June 2027 for at least one semester. You take ownership. When you see a challenge, you work with the team to solve it. Bonus Points if You Have Experience With Aerospace or systems engineering Coursework or projects in orbital mechanics, small spacecraft, or mission operations Student organization leadership, a business minor, sales or customer-facing work, or a startup or competition team Availability to work full time as a co-op during the spring semester (we can work around a class schedule if needed) Success is Measured By Keeping customer and opportunity records accurate and up to date. Providing reliable, timely support to Opportunity Leads. Producing useful research on customers, programs, budgets, and competitors. Contributing to well-organized, compliant proposals and contract packages. Learning and applying our capture process. Demonstrating that you can contribute to our capture process as a future full-time Opportunity Lead. Why Join Advanced Space Learn how real space missions are won, from a customer’s problem to a signed contract. Get trained in our capture process from day one. Work alongside experienced Opportunity Leads, engineers, and company leadership. Build a path to a full-time Opportunity Lead role. Join a team that’s passionate about delivering innovation to orbit and beyond. Compensation & Benefits Paid position: $21-$27 per hour (based on education level and experience) Spring: full-time co-op preferred; we can work around classes if needed Summer: full time After the term: potential to continue part time if still a student, or convert to full time if graduated Advanced Space is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
