Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Incumbent is responsible for obtaining all necessary authorizations in accordance with established guidelines. Verifies eligibility, obtains benefit information, and generates letters for authorizations. Responds to Member Services and Call Center inquiries and resolves any identified authorization issues which arise. What It Takes to be Successful Required Qualifications: Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Must be able to work weekends/holidays Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner Demonstrated experience using multi-line telephone system Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary Ability to make simple calculations and perform simple math Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Ability to effectively read, write and speak English Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs Demonstrated experience working with TDS, Signature, IDX Demonstrated experience working in registration, scheduling and/or authorization process Demonstrated experience working in a hospital or medical office setting Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese Total Rewards We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
