Associate Sterile Processing Technician ar Providence Saint Johns Health Center
in Santa Monica, CA. This position is a full time, variable shift and will work
8 hours a day.

Under the direct supervision and guidance of qualified Sterile Processing
personnel, performs entry-level sterile processing duties while completing
required facility-based clinical training, orientation, and competency
validation. The Associate Sterile Processing Technician has completed the
didactic portion of an approved sterile processing education program and applies
this foundational knowledge during supervised clinical training after hire.
Participates in the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging,
sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable medical devices and
surgical instrumentation in accordance with facility policies, manufacturers'
Instructions for Use, and applicable standards and guidelines. Performs assigned
duties within demonstrated competency and progressively assumes additional
responsibilities as training and competency requirements are completed.

Required qualifications:
* Coursework/Training: Completion of the required didactic or classroom portion
of an accredited or organization-approved sterile processing technician
education program.
* Coursework/Training: Eligibility to complete the clinical, hands-on, or
practicum portion of the sterile processing program following employment.
* National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile
Processing Association within 1 year of hire or
* National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician -
Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution within 1 year of
hire.
Preferred qualifications:
* H.S. Diploma or GED - General education.
* 6 months of exposure through laboratory, simulation, observation, volunteer,
or healthcare experience. Prior hands-on clinical sterile processing
experience is not required because clinical training will be completed upon
hire.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this
position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this
position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other
applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional
compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials,
standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus
opportunities.
