Billing Representative I - Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern
In an environment where the patient is at the center of everything that we do,
the individuals in this position typically reconcile medical claims for the
purpose of collecting revenue for the organization. They work with patient,
client and/or third-party insurance bills, and may work on one or more of these
processes on a daily basis.
Pay range: $17.20 - $22 / hour
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills,
training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained.
Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may
be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Focused efforts on decreasing Missing Information.
* Interpret Missing Information requests for appropriate action.
* Contact insurance carriers, clients, patients and/or other outside sources to
clarify information.
* Perform screen scrapes.
* Evaluate and respond to all aspects of written billing inquiries from the
patient or their representative to resolve billing issues.
* Handle patient indigency records
* Regular research involving both the web and billing systems.
* May be a certified Medical Coder and/or involved with medical coding.
* Maintain Compliance and HIPAA standards at all times Meet or exceed daily
production standards Meet or exceed daily quality standards.
* Ability to work on various other projects as needed.
* Ability to work overtime as needed based on departmental needs.
* Keying of updated billing information into system received from clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
* At least one year of relevant experience and/or completion of medical
administration course.
* Medical terminology knowledge
* Must be able to key 60 WPM and meet established production and quality
standards
* Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the
ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
and basic IT troubleshooting.
Preferred Experience:
* 1 year experience in A/R, Billing, Customer Service, insurance, or healthcare
* Understanding of multiple billing requirements across varies payers
Skills:
* Ability to work well in a fast-paced team and environment.
* Ability to adapt to changes.
* Ability to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to multi-task.
* PC Skills, with specific proficiency in Excel and data entry
