We are actively looking for a Structural Intern to join our Seattle or Federal Way office. The Civil Intern is an entry-level, temporary student role that supports project teams in a technical discipline such as engineering, planning, simulation, software development, CAD/BIM, or science. The intern performs routine civil engineering tasks under close supervision, supporting planning, design, and plan production for site development and infrastructure projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater systems. The role builds foundational knowledge of civil engineering principles and MN project workflows while completing structured, Work is performed under direct supervision with detailed instructions, is reviewed before use, and has limited downstream impact. This is an individual-contributor role with no direct reports. Qualifications: * Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering or a related technical field at an accredited college or university; junior standing or above preferred * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred * Basic understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site layout * Exposure to AutoCAD; learning MicroStation or Civil 3D * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel * Sound analytical and problem-solving skills applied to well-defined tasks * Clear communication; asks questions and accepts feedback constructively * Accountable for accuracy of assigned tasks; works under direct supervision with detailed instructions * All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 * Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire  Working Conditions:  Majority of work is office based.
